DIEGO ANDRÉS ÁLVAREZ-MARÍN
Diego Andrés Álvarez-Marín received his undergraduate degree in civil engineer and his master on industrial automation from the National University of Colombia at Manizales; he received his doctoral degree in engineering from the Leopold Franzens Universität Innsbruck, Austria. Currently, he works as an assistant professor at the National University of Colombia at Manizales.
His teaching a research interest lie at the interface between stochastic mechanics, machine learning and applied probability and statistics. In particular, he has done and likes to do research in: bridge aerodynamics, condition monitoring, Dempster-Shafer evidence theory, digital signal processing, evolutionary algorithms, Monte Carlo simulation, neural networks, pattern recognition, random set theory, support vector machines, stochastic processes, structural control, structural optimization, structural reliability, uncertainty analysis.
